Top Neighbor Program

Top Neighbor is the recognition for the most trusted owners in the VAKA community: the neighbors who respond fast, deliver what they post and gather good reviews, rental after rental.

We're just starting. The Top Neighbor program activates as the community grows — today it's not handing out badges yet. The criteria are already being measured from now on: when the program starts, neighbors who already meet the requirements will receive the badge in the first evaluation. Building a track record today is the best way to be in that group.

Criteria to earn it

The badge is earned by meeting all the criteria on your activity as an owner over the last 90 days:

  • 8 or more completed rentals as an owner, with different neighbors — renting many times to the same person doesn't speed up the path.
  • Average rating of 4.7 or higher in the reviews you receive.
  • High response rate: you respond to at least 90% of new messages, and fast.
  • Cancellations below 5% of your bookings. Canceling on the neighbor who already booked is what damages trust the most (see how cancellations work).
  • No lost disputes in the evaluated period.

Benefits

  • Visible badge on your profile and on each of your items. Neighbors see it before deciding who to rent from.
  • Reduced commission. As a Top Neighbor you pay 17% commission instead of the standard 20% — more earnings for the same rental (the money detail is in payments and commissions).
  • Visibility to those who seek trust. In search there's a filter to see only Top Neighbor items — the most demanding neighbors find you first.
  • Priority support. Your questions and claims are handled at the front of the line.

How the evaluation works

Once the program is active, the system evaluates automatically on the first day of each month, always looking at the last 90 days of activity. You don't have to apply or fill out forms: if you meet the criteria, the badge is yours.

If in a month you don't meet some criterion, you have a grace month before losing the badge — and we let you know in time so you can recover the metric. If you lose it, you can win it back in any following evaluation, with no additional penalty.

The program rewards real reliability, so it also has rules against shortcuts: simulated or inflated rentals between the same accounts don't count, and accounts with recent sanctions are left out for a while (more on this in how we prevent fraud).
