What we do

We connect neighbors so they can rent to each other what already exists in the neighborhood, with a process that protects both sides: evidence at every handover, payments within the platform and clear rules when something goes wrong. Where we are

We're just starting, and we say it with pride. VAKA was born in 2026: we kick off in one city, with a group of first neighbors, and we'll grow country by country as the community sustains it. We'd rather do one city well than promise the world.

The plan for the future is indeed big: that the first reflex of any neighbor, in any city, when they need something temporarily is to rent it from another neighbor, not buy it. We'll get there city by city, country by country — and from there to the world.

How we're different

• Built for the reality of each neighborhood. It's not a translated platform — each country is thought through from the inside: local currency, local payment methods and the reasonable distrust of lending something to a stranger.
• Here we're all neighbors. There aren't two classes of users: both sides look after each other, and whoever lends and whoever rents build reputation equally.
• Protection by process. VAKA Shield is not a policy: it's mandatory evidence at handover and return, a refundable deposit, a claim window and human review. And for higher-value bookings there's the Neighbor Backer, a voluntary mechanism of trust between real people.
• VAKA Coins. Each completed rental earns VAKA Coins you redeem for benefits within the platform. And the most trustworthy owners earn the recognition Top Neighbor.

Why it matters

Every item that gets rented is one that isn't manufactured extra, one fewer on its way to the landfill. But beyond the environment —we talk about that in sustainability—, every rental on VAKA keeps the economy within the neighborhood. The money doesn't go to a corporation on another continent: it stays with your neighbor.

• Honesty before hype. We won't inflate figures or invent testimonials. When we have real impact numbers, we'll publish them — and in the meantime, we say "we're just starting" without shame.
• Trust is built, not declared. That's why the process asks for evidence instead of asking for faith: this is how we take care of safety.
• Equal rules for everyone. A single policy of cancellation, the same terms and the same protection for every neighbor.
