If you want to rent

1. Explore freely. Search the catalog requires no account. Filter by category, price and delivery method until you find what you need.
2. Book with your verified phone. To send a request you only need to create your account and verify your number. You choose the dates and send the request — at this point nothing is charged yet.
3. The owner responds. Whoever lists on VAKA has already verified their identity with a document ( how verification works). They have 24 hours to accept your request; if they don't respond, the request expires on its own and you pay nothing.
4. The charge happens close to the delivery. When the owner accepts, you confirm the payment with your card: rental plus a refundable deposit. The actual charge is made at the moment of delivery; if your booking is for a far-off date, your card is saved and the charge is automatic 1 or 2 days before. The detail is in how payments work.
5. The delivery is documented. At the moment of delivery, photos of the item are taken with GPS location. That evidence is the basis of the protection of VAKA Shield.
6. Use the item in blocks of 24 hours. Each rental day is a full 24-hour block from delivery. Need more time? Request an extension from the app: if the owner approves it, the extra days are charged automatically to your payment method. No informal arrangements.
7. Return with evidence. The return is also documented with photos. Afterward a 48-hour window runs during which the owner can report a problem; if everything is in order, your deposit is refunded automatically when that window closes.
8. Leave a review. Honest reviews build the community's reputation — and they add up for you in VAKA Coins.

If you want to lend

1. List your item for free. Clear photos, price per day and an honest description of the condition. To list, you verify your identity with a document — our team reviews it before approving it. Start at start publishing.
2. Receive requests and you decide. Each request shows you the profile and reviews of the neighbor who wants to rent. You have 24 hours to accept or reject — no one rents your item without your approval.
3. Document the delivery. GPS photos at delivery are mandatory. They are not red tape: they are your evidence if something goes wrong.
4. Confirm the return. When you receive the item back you inspect it and document it. From there you have 48 hours to open a claim with evidence if you find damage. If you report nothing, the rental closes and the deposit returns to the neighbor who rented.
5. Collect your earnings. Your earnings are the rental price minus VAKA's 20% commission ( Top Neighbors pay 17%), plus what you charge for delivery. It is deposited in the weekly payment cycle.

Protection is a process, not a promise

VAKA Shield is not insurance nor a policy: it is the process that makes each rental leave evidence and that problems are resolved with clear rules.

• Mandatory evidence. GPS photos at delivery and at return. The condition of the item is recorded at the two moments that matter.
• Refundable deposit. It is charged at delivery and returned automatically when the 48-hour claim window closes, if there were no problems.
• Claims with human review. If the owner reports damage within the window, a real team reviews the evidence from both sides and decides.
• Neighbor Backer. For higher-value bookings, a trusted third party can back the rental voluntarily and reduce the deposit of the person renting.

If a claim is upheld, the financial response comes from the deposit and, when it exists, from the Neighbor Backer — always within a documented process. More detail in trust and safety.
